Improving your data and health insights by regularly using GHC

The more you use GHC the better your church management system will match the reality of your church and the better insights you'll have to make better ministry decisions.

The first time you use GHC...

Some users feel they can't even start using GHC because they have no confidence in the data.

We can show you very quickly how to do an initial cleanup to get you started if you don't have confidence in the data. Simply go to your checkup health dashboard and select "Data Quality" under setup.

This dashboard will show you very quickly:

• Your people categories being used by GHC and how healthy the data is in each
• People with missing empty data used by GHC (location and demographic). You can either click on each name to open a person's profile in your church management system or replicate the search in your church management system to show the same information and edit in bulk.
• People aded <1 yr ago NOT members. This is important because people who are considered newcomers by GHC should not be left in that category for more than a year. Such people are no longer newcomers (in our opinion) and they should either archived or moved into a different category. Such people are invisible to GHC as they will neither appear in newcomer nor member lists.

In just a short time you'll have a basic confidence in your data to draw some basic insights. Look at your health measures now. Do they tell you what you expect? If not why not? Either some more cleaning in time will help or GHC is showing you something you should pay attention to.

Using GHC regularly

As you review pastoral lists in GHC regularly take note of:

• Who is no longer a newcomer? Either archive or move into a membership category
• Is someone who has disengaged left your church or need following up?
• Keep your discipleship group lists updated and track who isn't yet in a group.
• Keep your serving lists updated and track who isn't yet serving.

(2) Monthly high level reviews using strategic dashboards
